Distribución y hábitat

Hembra de S. c. caprata.

Se extiende por la región indodomalaya y parte de Asia central. Hacia 1950 llegaron y colonizaron Nueva Guinea.[3]​ Habita en espacios abiertos: praderas, cultivos, sabanas y zonas de matorral.
